Our History
It all started with Rogerio Luiz Seibt, the founder of the Gaúcha farm and patriarch of the Seibt family. He migrated from the state of Rio Grande do Sul in the mid 1970’s to the frontier of Minas Gerais after hearing from a friend who told him of an untouched paradise perfect for raising coffee. At just 21 years old, Rogerio moved to the unknown frontier with his wife and a dream to build a farm. A story commonly relayed to descendants over the decades, is how many locals dismissed the idea that anything could be grown in the Cerrado Mineiro region of Minas Gerais. It was easy to find critics who questioned the validity of growing coffee some place where it had never been done before …. especially after a difficult first year. But young Rogerio continued to hold true to his beliefs. Through his vision and determination, he conquered the Brazilian Cerrado and created one of the most respected coffee farms in the country.
A History Built on Agriculture
In continuing with the family tradition, the second generation has now taken the helm of the company. It is their mission to provide coffee lovers the opportunity to enjoy the same coffee that Brazilians have enjoyed for decades.
